Schedule your posts with Cursor, start to finish

In 10 minutes: add PurrPlan as an MCP server in Cursor, ask the agent to prepare your week, approve drafts in the calendar.

In short — to schedule posts with Cursor: create a token on your PurrPlan workspace’s “API & MCP” page, paste the MCP config into Cursor (url https://app.purrplan.ai/api/mcp + Bearer), then ask “Prepare 5 posts for my week, drafts only”. You approve in the calendar. 10 minutes flat.

What you need

  • ✓A PurrPlan account with at least one network connected (the free trial is enough).
  • ✓Cursor with MCP support.
  • ✓10 minutes.

The 5 steps

1

Grab your URL and token

In PurrPlan, open your workspace’s “API & MCP” page. You’ll find the server URL (app.purrplan.ai/api/mcp), your workspace id and a button to create a token. Pick the read + write + ai scopes: read the calendar, create drafts, generate text.

2

Open Cursor’s MCP settings

In Cursor: Settings → MCP (or Features → MCP). Paste the JSON block below — replace $TOKEN.

Cursor MCP → add server URL https://app.purrplan.ai/api/mcp + header Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN
3

Paste the MCP config

Paste this block into Cursor’s MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "purrplan": {
      "url": "https://app.purrplan.ai/api/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer $TOKEN" }
    }
  }
}
4

Ask for your week

Open a conversation and paste this prompt — adapt the topic, date and networks:

Prepare 5 posts about [your topic] for the week of [date], one per day Monday to Friday at 9am, time zone [your tz]. Use my accounts connected to PurrPlan (list them first to confirm). Adapt each idea to the network: detailed for LinkedIn, concise for X, conversational for Threads. Create drafts only, without scheduling or publishing, and show me the proposed slots.
5

Approve in the calendar

The Cursor agent confirms each draft. Open your PurrPlan calendar: the posts wait for your review. Nothing goes out without your approval.

Then you can ask it

“What’s scheduled this week?”

list_posts reads your calendar — Cursor answers with contents, statuses and dates.

“Move Thursday’s post to 6pm”

update_draft_post moves the slot without touching the text.

“Attach this image to the LinkedIn post”

upload_media_from_url ingests media from a public URL.

“Answer the pending comments”

The inbox:read scopes bring your unified inbox into the conversation.

🔒 The guardrail that matters

Give Cursor a token limited to the scopes it needs. The safe recipe: drafts only (the prompt above requires it), human approval in the calendar, and a token you can revoke in one click. A read-only agent (read scope) can never publish anything.

Frequent questions

Cursor vs Claude Code?+

Same PurrPlan MCP server; only the client UI differs. The 18 tools (list_accounts, create_draft_post, plan_my_week…) show up in Cursor once the config is pasted.

What about Claude or ChatGPT?+

Same server. Tutorials: /schedule-posts-with-claude/ and /schedule-posts-with-chatgpt/.

Can Cursor publish directly?+

Yes, if its token has the write scope and it passes a scheduled_at date. We recommend the draft → approval flow, especially at first.

How much does it cost?+

MCP is included from the Pro plan (€19/month) and in the Founders lifetime license (API + MCP + extension). If Cursor writes the copy itself, no PurrPlan AI credits are used.
